Fixtures will be posted before the start of the league.
Each team will play against every other team once or more, depending on the number of participating teams.
The top 4 teams will qualify for the Semi-Finals.
Semi-Final winners will play in the Final.
Group positions will be decided based on:• Points• Net Run Rate (as per CricHeroes App)
All scoring will be done using the CricHeroes App.
All players must be registered in the CricHeroes App.
All players must arrive 30 minutes before the start of the match.
Any team with 8 or fewer players at the toss will automatically lose the toss.• No substitute players are allowed except from the same team.
OPL organizers are not responsible for any injuries during or after OPL matches.• A First-Aid kit will be available throughout the league.
Players are responsible for their own personal health insurance.
Teams playing the first match must set up the ground before the toss. Teams playing the last match must clean the ground along with the organizers present.
Matches must start and end at the scheduled time.• If the fielding team arrives late, 1 over will be deducted for every full 7 minutes lost.
Both teams must check and verify scorecards for correct entries.
Any player not present on the field before the Powerplay ends will not be allowed to participate in that match.
Players must use standard-size bats; oversized bats are not allowed.
Each team receives two reviews per match for run-out appeals.• Only the fielding team captain may request a review.• Batsmen may also request a review.• Umpires will review GoPro footage and make a final decision.• Once a decision is finalized, no changes will be made.
The official ball type is a hard tennis ball.
Except the Wicket Keeper, fielding players are not allowed to wear gloves of any kind while bowling or fielding.
Fixtures cannot be rearranged.
Points System:Win → 2 pointsNo Result → 1 point
In a tied match, the winner will be determined by:a. Team losing fewer wicketsb. If equal: Most runs in last 10 overs → then last 5 overs → then last 1 over
Matches must start on time (except Finals Day).• Each innings must be completed within 85 minutes.
Any team not completing their overs in the allotted time will incur a 5-run penalty per full over not completed.
Standard match length: 20 overs per side.
Teams cannot mutually agree to shorten a match unless approved by OPL organizers.
If the start is delayed in the first innings (weather, ground, or injury):• 1 over deducted per side for every full 7 minutes lost.
In the second innings:• 1 over deducted for every full 3.5 minutes lost.
Minimum overs required for a result: 10 overs per side, unless a result is already achieved.
Target score will be recalculated by the CricHeroes App (minimum 10-over rule applies).
25-Yard Fielding Circle
At the moment of delivery: minimum 4 fielders + bowler + wicketkeeper must be inside the circle.
Maximum 5 fielders may be outside the circle.
Violations = No Ball.
Powerplay — First 6 Overs
Maximum 2 fielders allowed outside the 25-yard circle.
Violations = No Ball.
Balls will be provided by OPL organizers.
Incoming batsmen must reach the crease within 2 minutes of the wicket falling.• Failure → “Timed Out” (upon appeal).
Mankading (run-out at non-striker end) is allowed without warning.
After a ball is completed, batsmen must confirm with the umpire before leaving the crease unless the umpire declares the ball dead.
A runner is allowed only if the fielding captain agrees and the batsman is injured.
Umpires assigned by organizers will officiate the match.• The umpire's decision is final.
Any obstruction caused by items on the ground (helmet, bottle, gloves, caps, etc.) will result in 5 penalty runs to the batting team.
Bowlers do not need to inform the umpire of their guard unless asked.
Over Limits
Maximum 4 overs per bowler.
In shortened matches, bowlers may bowl one-fifth of total overs (e.g., 17-over match → 3, 3, 3, 4, 4).
Wide Judgment
A line 17" inside the return crease will be marked for off-side wide judgment.
Any ball passing outside this line (without batsman movement) = Wide.
Any ball passing outside the batsman's pads and leg stump = Wide.
No Ball Conditions
Shoulder-height bouncer: 1 warning → next is No Ball.
Full toss above waist height = No Ball.
Ball pitching twice before reaching the popping crease = No Ball.
Powerplay: >2 fielders outside circle = No Ball.
After Powerplay: >5 fielders outside circle = No Ball.
All No Balls result in a Free Hit.
Field Changes on Free Hit
Field cannot change except if batsmen change ends.
Fielders inside the circle may move to the edge of the circle.
Each team is assigned a specific jersey color.
Team captains must ensure all players wear the correct team T-shirt.
Failure to wear correct T-shirt → player is not allowed to play.
Shorts are not allowed.
Batsmen and wicketkeepers must wear white pads only.
Misconduct Includes
Arguing with umpires after the final decision.
Fielders arguing decisions (appeals allowed, arguments not).
Use of abusive language, personal remarks, or physical threats.
Sledging umpires (on-field or off-field).
Non-batting players entering the field during play.
