Punctuality & Forfeits
Drag the clock to see what happens when a team is late.
The Final is a true double-elimination match-up: the Winner's Bracket Champion plays the Loser's Bracket Champion.
The match is best 2 of 3 sets, with sets played to 21.
An “if-necessary” deciding set is played to 21 when the Loser's Bracket Champion wins the first match, so the Winner's Bracket Champion must be beaten twice.
The Winner's Bracket Champion (unbeaten) plays the Loser's Bracket Champion (one loss). Sets are to 21.
Ball Contact
Any body part, including feet and head, is legal.
No kicking on serves.
Lifting & Catches
Strictly illegal.
Open-Hand Receives
Serves and hard-driven spikes may be received with open hands and doubled.
Let Serves
Legal: a serve that touches the net and lands in-bounds is live.
A block is NOT a touch — the team still has 3 touches remaining.
A block is defined as: close to the net, with a body part above the top of the net. Directional blocking is legal.
Reaching over the net: you may cross the plane only after the ball breaks the plane or after an opponent contacts it.
The other side attacks and our blocker gets a hand on it. A block is not a touch: we still have all 3.
Net contact = lost point (except hair).
Stepping under the net is legal if there is no interference.
Interference = lost point.
Touching the net is a lost point. Hair brushing the net doesn't count.
Disputes
Controversial points are replayed at the referee's discretion.
